Vanditvā sirasā seṭṭhaṃ, buddhamappaṭipuggalaṃ;

Having bowed down with my head to the supreme Buddha, the unequalled person;

Sau khi đảnh lễ bậc Tối Thượng, Đức Phật vô song;

Bhavābhāvakaraṃ dhammaṃ, gaṇañceva niraṅgaṇaṃ.

to the Dhamma that brings about becoming and non-becoming, and to the Stainless Saṅgha.

Pháp đưa đến sự chấm dứt hữu và vô hữu, và Tăng đoàn không tỳ vết.

Bhikkhūnaṃ bhikkhunīnañca, hitatthāya samāhito;

Being intent on the welfare and benefit of bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs;

Pavakkhāmi samāsena, vinayassavinicchayaṃ.

I shall briefly explain the determination of the Vinaya.

Anākulamasaṃkiṇṇaṃ, madhuratthapadakkamaṃ;

This, being clear, unconfused, with a sequence of sweet words and meanings;

Paṭubhāvakaraṃ etaṃ, paramaṃ vinayakkame.

is an excellent means for proficiency in the Vinaya discipline.

Apāraṃ otarantānaṃ, sāraṃ vinayasāgaraṃ;

For bhikkhus and bhikkhunīs who are entering the boundless ocean of the Vinaya's essence;

Therefore, listen to me, who is speaking about the method of the Vinaya, the determination of the Vinaya;
