For those attaining final Nibbāna in the pañcavokāra existence, for those who are 'last-existents' in the arūpa realm, and for those who will be reborn in the arūpa realm and attain final Nibbāna—for them, when they are passing away, the eye base ceased, but for them the ear base will not cease.
