331. Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmiṃ mahāvane mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi; dasahi ca lokadhātūhi devatā yebhuyyena sannipatitā honti bhagavantaṃ dassanāya bhikkhusaṅghañca.
331. Thus have I heard—At one time the Blessed One was dwelling among the Sakyans, in Kapilavatthu, in the Great Wood, together with a great Sangha of bhikkhus, numbering five hundred, all of whom were Arahants; and deities from ten world-systems had for the most part assembled to see the Blessed One and the Sangha of bhikkhus.
331. Tôi nghe như vầy: Một thời, Thế Tôn trú tại Kapilavatthu trong xứ Sakka, trong Đại Lâm, cùng với đại chúng Tỳ-kheo gồm khoảng năm trăm vị Tỳ-kheo, tất cả đều là bậc A-la-hán; và chư thiên từ mười thế giới phần lớn đã vân tập đến để chiêm ngưỡng Thế Tôn và chúng Tỳ-kheo.
Atha kho catunnaṃ suddhāvāsakāyikānaṃ devatānaṃ* etadahosi – ‘‘ayaṃ kho bhagavā sakkesu viharati kapilavatthusmiṃ mahāvane mahatā bhikkhusaṅghena saddhiṃ pañcamattehi bhikkhusatehi sabbeheva arahantehi; dasahi ca lokadhātūhi devatā yebhuyyena sannipatitā honti bhagavantaṃ dassanāya bhikkhusaṅghañca.
Then it occurred to four deities of the Suddhāvāsa host: ‘‘The Blessed One is dwelling among the Sakyans, in Kapilavatthu, in the Great Wood, together with a great Sangha of bhikkhus, numbering five hundred, all of whom are Arahants; and deities from ten world-systems have for the most part assembled to see the Blessed One and the Saṅgha of bhikkhus.
Bấy giờ, bốn vị thiên nhân thuộc nhóm Suddhāvāsa khởi lên ý nghĩ: “Thế Tôn đang trú tại Kapilavatthu trong xứ Sakka, trong Đại Lâm, cùng với đại chúng Tỳ-kheo gồm khoảng năm trăm vị Tỳ-kheo, tất cả đều là bậc A-la-hán; và chư thiên từ mười thế giới phần lớn đã vân tập đến để chiêm ngưỡng Thế Tôn và chúng Tỳ-kheo.
Yaṃnūna mayampi yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkameyyāma; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavato santike paccekaṃ gāthaṃ* bhāseyyāmā’’ti.
Let us approach where the Blessed One is; having approached, let us each recite a verse in the presence of the Blessed One.’’
Vậy chúng ta hãy đến chỗ Thế Tôn, và sau khi đến, mỗi vị hãy đọc một bài kệ trước Thế Tôn.”
332. Atha kho tā devatā seyyathāpi nāma balavā puriso samiñjitaṃ vā bāhaṃ pasāreyya pasāritaṃ vā bāhaṃ samiñjeyya, evameva suddhāvāsesu devesu antarahitā bhagavato purato pāturahesuṃ.
332. Then those deities, just as a strong man might extend his flexed arm or flex his extended arm, vanished from among the Suddhāvāsa devas and appeared before the Blessed One.
332. Bấy giờ, những vị thiên nhân ấy, cũng như một người lực sĩ co duỗi cánh tay đã co lại hoặc duỗi cánh tay đã duỗi ra, liền biến mất khỏi cõi Suddhāvāsa và xuất hiện trước Thế Tôn.
Atha kho tā devatā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhaṃsu.
Then those deities, having paid homage to the Blessed One, stood to one side.
Bấy giờ, những vị thiên nhân ấy đảnh lễ Thế Tôn và đứng sang một bên.
Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho ekā devatā bhagavato santike imaṃ gāthaṃ abhāsi –
Standing to one side, one deity spoke this verse in the presence of the Blessed One—
Một vị thiên nhân đứng sang một bên, liền đọc bài kệ này trước Thế Tôn:
Te caranti suddhā vimalā, cakkhumatā sudantā susunāgā’’ti.
They wander pure, stainless, well-tamed by the One with Vision, like noble elephants.”
Họ sống thanh tịnh, không cấu uế, được bậc Nhãn (Đức Phật) điều phục khéo léo, như những con voi tốt.”
333. Atha kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – ‘‘yebhuyyena, bhikkhave, dasasu lokadhātūsu devatā sannipatitā honti* , tathāgataṃ dassanāya bhikkhusaṅghañca.
333. Then the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: “Mostly, bhikkhus, deities from ten world-systems are gathered to see the Tathāgata and the Saṅgha of bhikkhus.
333. Rồi Thế Tôn gọi các Tỳ-kheo và nói: “Này các Tỳ-kheo, phần lớn chư thiên từ mười thế giới đã hội họp để chiêm ngưỡng Như Lai và Tăng đoàn Tỳ-kheo.
Yepi te, bhikkhave, ahesuṃ atītamaddhānaṃ arahanto sammāsambuddhā, tesampi bhagavantānaṃ etaṃparamāyeva* devatā sannipatitā ahesuṃ seyyathāpi mayhaṃ etarahi.
Those Blessed Ones, bhikkhus, who were Arahants, Perfectly Self-Awakened Ones in the past, for those Blessed Ones too, such a multitude of deities gathered, just as for me now.
Này các Tỳ-kheo, những bậc A-la-hán, Chánh Đẳng Giác đã xuất hiện trong quá khứ, chư thiên cũng đã hội họp đông đảo như vậy trước các bậc Thế Tôn ấy, giống như trước Ta hiện nay.
Yepi te, bhikkhave, bhavissanti anāgatamaddhānaṃ arahanto sammāsambuddhā, tesampi bhagavantānaṃ etaṃparamāyeva devatā sannipatitā bhavissanti seyyathāpi mayhaṃ etarahi.
And those Blessed Ones, bhikkhus, who will be Arahants, Perfectly Self-Awakened Ones in the future, for those Blessed Ones too, such a multitude of deities will gather, just as for me now.
Này các Tỳ-kheo, những bậc A-la-hán, Chánh Đẳng Giác sẽ xuất hiện trong tương lai, chư thiên cũng sẽ hội họp đông đảo như vậy trước các bậc Thế Tôn ấy, giống như trước Ta hiện nay.
Ācikkhissāmi, bhikkhave, devakāyānaṃ nāmāni; kittayissāmi, bhikkhave, devakāyānaṃ nāmāni; desessāmi, bhikkhave, devakāyānaṃ nāmāni.
I will declare, bhikkhus, the names of the hosts of devas; I will proclaim, bhikkhus, the names of the hosts of devas; I will teach, bhikkhus, the names of the hosts of devas.
Này các Tỳ-kheo, Ta sẽ nói về tên các nhóm chư thiên; Này các Tỳ-kheo, Ta sẽ kể tên các nhóm chư thiên; Này các Tỳ-kheo, Ta sẽ thuyết giảng về tên các nhóm chư thiên.
Taṃ suṇātha, sādhukaṃ manasikarotha, bhāsissāmī’’ti.
Listen to that, attend carefully, I will speak.”
Hãy lắng nghe điều đó, hãy chú tâm kỹ lưỡng, Ta sẽ nói.”
‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’ti kho te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
“Yes, Venerable Sir,” those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One.
“Thưa vâng, bạch Thế Tôn,” các Tỳ-kheo ấy vâng lời Thế Tôn.
Māyā kuṭeṇḍu viṭeṇḍu* , viṭucca* viṭuṭo saha.
Māyā, Kuṭeṇḍu, Viṭeṇḍu, and Viṭucca, along with Viṭuṭo.
Māyā, Kuṭeṇḍu, Viṭeṇḍu, cùng với Viṭu và Viṭuṭo.
Vehāyasā* te vanamajjhapattā, citrā supaṇṇā iti tesa nāmaṃ.
Those aerial beings, having reached the middle of the forest, their name was Citrā Supaṇṇā, the variegated Garuḍas.

‘‘Vasūnaṃ vāsavo seṭṭho, sakkopāgā purindado;
Among the Vasus, Vāsava, the best, Sakka, the giver of gifts, arrived;
