And Brahmā Sahampati, lord of the world, with hands raised in reverence, requested the unsurpassed excellent one;

‘‘Santīdha sattāpparajakkhajātikā, desehi dhammaṃ anukampimaṃ pajaṃ’’.
“There are beings here with little dust in their eyes; teach the Dhamma, having compassion for these people.”
“Này Thế Tôn, ở đây có những chúng sanh có ít bụi trần, xin Ngài vì lòng từ bi mà thuyết pháp cho quần sanh này.”

Sampannavijjācaraṇassa tādino, jutindharassantimadehadhārino;
For the one accomplished in knowledge and conduct, the one who is steadfast, the bearer of radiance, the bearer of the final body;
Đối với bậc Như Lai đầy đủ tam minh và mười lăm hạnh, bậc kiên định, bậc mang ánh sáng trí tuệ, bậc mang thân cuối cùng,

Tathāgatassappaṭipuggalassa, uppajji kāruññatā sabbasatte.
For the Tathāgata, the one without an equal, compassion arose for all beings.
bậc vô song, lòng từ bi khởi lên đối với tất cả chúng sanh.

“These beings, including devas and humans, do not know what kind of supreme man this Buddha is;

Iddhibalaṃ paññābalañca kīdisaṃ, buddhabalaṃ lokahitassa kīdisaṃ.
What kind of power of supernormal ability and power of wisdom he has, what kind of Buddha-power he has for the welfare of the world.
Thần thông lực và trí tuệ lực là như thế nào, Phật lực vì lợi ích thế gian là như thế nào.

‘‘Na hete jānanti sadevamānusā, buddho ayaṃ edisako naruttamo;
“These beings, including devas and humans, do not know that this supreme man, this Buddha, is of such a kind;
Chư thiên và loài người này không biết bậc nhân thượng này, vị Phật này là như thế đó;

Iddhibalaṃ paññābalañca edisaṃ, buddhabalaṃ lokahitassa edisaṃ.
That his power of supernormal ability and power of wisdom are of such a kind, that his Buddha-power for the welfare of the world is of such a kind.
Thần thông lực và trí tuệ lực là như thế đó, Phật lực vì lợi ích thế gian là như thế đó.

‘‘Handāhaṃ dassayissāmi, buddhabalamanuttaraṃ;
“Come now, I shall display the unsurpassed Buddha-power;

I shall create a walkway in the sky, adorned with jewels.”

The Bhummā, the Mahārājikā, the Tāvatiṃsā, the Yāmā devas, the Tusitā, and the Nimmitā;
Chư thiên Địa cư, Tứ Đại Thiên Vương, chư thiên Tam Thập Tam Thiên, chư thiên Dạ Ma, chư thiên Đâu Suất,

Paranimmitā yepi ca brahmakāyikā, ānanditā vipulamakaṃsu ghosaṃ.
And the Paranimmitā, and those of the Brahmakāyikā, rejoiced and made a great acclamation.
chư thiên Hóa Lạc, chư thiên Tha Hóa Tự Tại và chư thiên Phạm Thiên, tất cả hoan hỷ và cất tiếng reo hò vang dội.

And the earth with its devas was illuminated, and the vast, unenclosed world-interstices;
Khi ấy, mặt đất cùng với chư thiên được chiếu sáng, các thế giới trung gian rộng lớn không bị che khuất;

And the dense darkness was then dispelled, upon seeing the wonderful miracle.
Bóng tối dày đặc bị xua tan, khi thấy phép lạ kỳ diệu đó.

In this world, in the next, and in both, spreading below, above, and across.
Ở thế giới này và thế giới khác, cả hai, phía dưới và phía trên, và cả phương ngang đều được lan tỏa.

The leader of the world created a walkway, well-finished, made of all kinds of jewels.

Họ chiêm ngưỡng bậc từ bi vì lợi ích thế gian, như vầng trăng tròn vươn cao trên bầu trời.
