And how, monks, does a bhikkhu who develops the five faculties, who frequently practices the five faculties, incline towards Nibbāna, flow towards Nibbāna, and tend towards Nibbāna?

Here, monks, a bhikkhu develops the faculty of faith (saddhindriya) culminating in the removal of lust, culminating in the removal of hatred, culminating in the removal of delusion... (and so on)... he develops the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya) culminating in the removal of lust, culminating in the removal of hatred, culminating in the removal of delusion.
Ở đây, này các Tỳ-khưu, một Tỳ-khưu tu tập tín quyền dẫn đến sự điều phục tham (rāgavinaya), dẫn đến sự điều phục sân (dosavinaya), dẫn đến sự điều phục si (mohavinaya)… (v.v.)… tuệ quyền dẫn đến sự điều phục tham, dẫn đến sự điều phục sân, dẫn đến sự điều phục si.
Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu pañcindriyāni bhāvento pañcindriyāni bahulīkaronto nibbānaninno hoti nibbānapoṇo nibbānapabbhāro’’ti.
It is in this way, monks, that a bhikkhu who develops the five faculties, who frequently practices the five faculties, inclines towards Nibbāna, flows towards Nibbāna, and tends towards Nibbāna.”
Này các Tỳ-khưu, một Tỳ-khưu tu tập năm quyền, làm cho năm quyền phát triển, hướng về Nibbāna, xuôi về Nibbāna, nghiêng về Nibbāna là như vậy.’’

Rūparāgo, arūparāgo, māno, uddhaccaṃ, avijjā – imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañcuddhambhāgiyāni saṃyojanāni.
Lust for form (rūparāgo), lust for the formless (arūparāgo), conceit (māno), restlessness (uddhaccaṃ), ignorance (avijjā) – these, monks, are the five upper fetters.
Sắc ái, vô sắc ái, mạn, trạo cử, vô minh – này các Tỳ-khưu, đây là năm kiết sử thượng phần.
Imesaṃ kho, bhikkhave, pañcannaṃ uddhambhāgiyānaṃ saṃyojanānaṃ abhiññāya pariññāya parikkhayāya pahānāya pañcindriyāni bhāvetabbāni.
For the direct knowledge, full understanding, utter destruction, and abandoning of these five upper fetters, the five faculties are to be developed.

(and so on)... the faculty of mindfulness (satindriya)... the faculty of concentration (samādhindriya)... he develops the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya) culminating in the removal of lust, culminating in the removal of hatred, culminating in the removal of delusion.
