Taṃ suṇātha, sādhukaṃ manasi karotha; bhāsissāmī’’ti.
Listen to that, attend carefully; I will speak."
Hãy lắng nghe, hãy khéo tác ý; Ta sẽ nói."
‘‘Evaṃ, bhante’’ti kho te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
"Yes, Venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Bhagavā.

"And what, bhikkhus, is the diversity of elements?

Cakkhudhātu rūpadhātu cakkhuviññāṇadhātu, sotadhātu saddadhātu sotaviññāṇadhātu, ghānadhātu gandhadhātu ghānaviññāṇadhātu, jivhādhātu rasadhātu jivhāviññāṇadhātu, kāyadhātu phoṭṭhabbadhātu kāyaviññāṇadhātu, manodhātu dhammadhātu manoviññāṇadhātu – idaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, dhātunānatta’’nti.
The eye element, the form element, the eye-consciousness element; the ear element, the sound element, the ear-consciousness element; the nose element, the odor element, the nose-consciousness element; the tongue element, the taste element, the tongue-consciousness element; the body element, the tactile element, the body-consciousness element; the mind element, the Dhamma element, the mind-consciousness element — this, bhikkhus, is called the diversity of elements."

Cakkhudhātu sotadhātu ghānadhātu jivhādhātu kāyadhātu manodhātu – idaṃ vuccati, bhikkhave, dhātunānattaṃ’’.
The eye element, the ear element, the nose element, the tongue element, the body element, the mind element — this, bhikkhus, is called the diversity of elements."

Bhikkhus, dependent on the eye element, eye-contact arises.

Sotadhātuṃ paṭicca… ghānadhātuṃ paṭicca … jivhādhātuṃ paṭicca… kāyadhātuṃ paṭicca… manodhātuṃ paṭicca uppajjati manosamphasso.
Dependent on the ear element… dependent on the nose element… dependent on the tongue element… dependent on the body element… dependent on the mind element, mind-contact arises.
Do duyên nhĩ giới… do duyên tỷ giới… do duyên thiệt giới… do duyên thân giới… do duyên ý giới mà phát sinh ý xúc.
Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, dhātunānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati phassanānatta’’nti.
It is in this way, bhikkhus, that dependent on the diversity of elements, the diversity of contacts arises."

Bhikkhus, dependent on the eye-element, eye-contact arises; dependent on eye-contact, feeling born of eye-contact arises; but feeling born of eye-contact does not give rise to eye-contact; and eye-contact does not give rise to the eye-element…pe… dependent on the mind-element, mind-contact arises; dependent on mind-contact, feeling born of mind-contact arises; but feeling born of mind-contact does not give rise to mind-contact; and mind-contact does not give rise to the mind-element.

The form-element, the sound-element, the smell-element, the taste-element, the tangible-element, the phenomena-element—this, bhikkhus, is called the diversity of elements.”

The Bhagavā said this: “Bhikkhus, dependent on the diversity of elements, diversity of perceptions arises; dependent on diversity of perceptions, diversity of intentions arises; dependent on diversity of intentions, diversity of desires arises; dependent on diversity of desires, diversity of burning arises; dependent on diversity of burning, diversity of seeking arises.
Thế Tôn đã nói như sau – “Này các Tỳ-kheo, do sự đa dạng của các giới (dhātunānattaṃ) khởi lên sự đa dạng của tưởng (saññānānattaṃ), do sự đa dạng của tưởng khởi lên sự đa dạng của tư duy (saṅkappanānattaṃ), do sự đa dạng của tư duy khởi lên sự đa dạng của dục (chandanānattaṃ), do sự đa dạng của dục khởi lên sự đa dạng của sự nung đốt (pariḷāhanānattaṃ), do sự đa dạng của sự nung đốt khởi lên sự đa dạng của sự tìm cầu (pariyesanānānattaṃ).

And what, bhikkhus, is the diversity of elements?

“Bhikkhus, dependent on the form-element, perception of form arises; dependent on perception of form, intention concerning form arises; dependent on intention concerning form, desire for form arises; dependent on desire for form, burning for form arises; dependent on burning for form, seeking for form arises…pe… dependent on the phenomena-element, perception of phenomena arises; dependent on perception of phenomena, intention concerning phenomena arises; dependent on intention concerning phenomena, desire for phenomena arises; dependent on desire for phenomena, burning for phenomena arises; dependent on burning for phenomena, seeking for phenomena arises.

‘‘Evaṃ kho, bhikkhave, dhātunānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati saññānānattaṃ, saññānānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati…pe… saṅkappa… phassa… vedanā… chanda… pariḷāha… pariyesanā… lābha… no lābhanānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati pariyesanānānattaṃ, no pariyesanānānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati pariḷāhanānattaṃ, no pariḷāhanānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati chandanānattaṃ, no chandanānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati vedanānānattaṃ, no vedanānānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati phassanānattaṃ, no phassanānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati saṅkappanānattaṃ, no saṅkappanānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati saññānānattaṃ, no saññānānattaṃ paṭicca uppajjati dhātunānatta’’nti.
“This is how, monks, dependent on the diversity of elements, diversity of perceptions arises; dependent on the diversity of perceptions, diversity of…intentions…contacts…feelings…desires…feverish agitations…quests…acquisitions arises; but not dependent on the diversity of acquisitions, diversity of quests arises; not dependent on the diversity of quests, diversity of feverish agitations arises; not dependent on the diversity of feverish agitations, diversity of desires arises; not dependent on the diversity of desires, diversity of feelings arises; not dependent on the diversity of feelings, diversity of contacts arises; not dependent on the diversity of contacts, diversity of intentions arises; not dependent on the diversity of intentions, diversity of perceptions arises; not dependent on the diversity of perceptions, diversity of elements arises,” so he said.
