Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘jarāmaraṇaṃ, bhikkhave, ajānatā apassatā yathābhūtaṃ jarāmaraṇe yathābhūtaṃ ñāṇāya satthā pariyesitabbo; jarāmaraṇasamudayaṃ ajānatā apassatā yathābhūtaṃ jarāmaraṇasamudaye yathābhūtaṃ ñāṇāya satthā pariyesitabbo; jarāmaraṇanirodhaṃ ajānatā apassatā yathābhūtaṃ jarāmaraṇanirodhe yathābhūtaṃ ñāṇāya satthā pariyesitabbo; jarāmaraṇanirodhagāminiṃ paṭipadaṃ ajānatā apassatā yathābhūtaṃ jarāmaraṇanirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya yathābhūtaṃ ñāṇāya satthā pariyesitabbo’’ti.(Suttanto eko).

(The Blessed One was) living at Sāvatthī…pe… “Monks, for one who does not know and see aging-and-death as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of aging-and-death as it actually is. For one who does not know and see the origin of aging-and-death as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the origin of aging-and-death as it actually is. For one who does not know and see the cessation of aging-and-death as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the cessation of aging-and-death as it actually is. For one who does not know and see the path leading to the cessation of aging-and-death as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the path leading to the cessation of aging-and-death as it actually is.”

Tại Sāvatthī, Thế Tôn cư ngụ… Này các Tỳ-khưu, đối với sự già chết, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về sự già chết; đối với nguyên nhân của sự già chết, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về nguyên nhân của sự già chết; đối với sự diệt trừ sự già chết, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về sự diệt trừ sự già chết; đối với con đường dẫn đến sự diệt trừ sự già chết, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về con đường dẫn đến sự diệt trừ sự già chết.

(11) “Monks, for one who does not know and see volitional formations as they actually are, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of volitional formations as they actually are. For one who does not know and see the origin of volitional formations as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the origin of volitional formations as it actually is. For one who does not know and see the cessation of volitional formations as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the cessation of volitional formations as it actually is. For one who does not know and see the path leading to the cessation of volitional formations as it actually is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the path leading to the cessation of volitional formations as it actually is.”
(11) ‘‘Này các Tỳ-khưu, đối với các hành, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về các hành; đối với nguyên nhân của các hành, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về nguyên nhân của các hành; đối với sự diệt trừ các hành, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về sự diệt trừ các hành; đối với con đường dẫn đến sự diệt trừ các hành, người không biết, không thấy đúng như thật, nên tìm một vị Thầy để có trí tuệ đúng như thật về con đường dẫn đến sự diệt trừ các hành.’’
